The Certificate in Natural Health Studies is designed to introduce students to a wide variety of natural therapies, assist them in a decision towards a professional qualification and/or provide the type of qualification that would aid employment in health food shops and dispensaries.
The qualification is also a direct staircase option into the Diplomas in Massage Therapy, Reflexology & Relaxation Massage or Aromatherapy. It is an indirect option for the Diplomas in Clinical Herbal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition.
The qualification is studied on campus during the summer school and semesters.
Entry Requirements
The College prefers applicants to have NCEA Level 3 in Biology, English and Chemistry. Students without appropriate background education or experience will be advised on ways they can meet the entry criteria.

6 months full time or up to 2 years part time
Requirements for an Award
To be eligible for the award of Certificate in Natural Health Studies, a candidate will successfully complete all the courses with a passing grade of not less than 60%.
Students planning to use the qualification as a staircase option into the Diploma in Massage Therapy must achieve a passing grade of 70% or above to be eligible for cross credits.
